'Be Kind, Work Hard'

Welcome to Kingfisher's class Year 6

AUTUMN TERM 2022

Welcome to the Autumn term in year 6.

We are really looking forward to working with you all this term and the start to year 6, the final primary year just before transition to secondary.

Autumn term is full of loads of learning.  In English we will be reading the novel Wonder, which is a superb novel and we are sure you will enjoy this work.  We also study Holes by Louis Sachar in the second half term.  Again, a great novel which will be enjoyed and feed into a whole variety of our English work.

In Maths, we cover place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division along with fractions and some geometry work.  In Science, we look at Light and Electricity,

Cityscapes is our topic in our Art work this term and we will be looking at burger compositions in our Design Technology work, as well as cooking our own ones!

In Geography, we will be studying North America as a continent, looking closely at cities and landscape structures.

We hope you enjoy the curriculum this term.
