'Be Kind, Work Hard'

                                                                                       EAL

What is English as an additional language?

This term is used when a pupil’s first language is other than English.

At Livingstone Primary School we have a significant number of pupils whom have English as an additional language (EAL). We embrace and celebrate cultural and linguistic diversity and view this as a great asset to our school.

When a child with EAL joins our school, we encourage parents and carers to share as much information about their child’s prior education and language acquisition, so that we can fully support the pupil’s transition in to school.

This page contains useful documents and links to websites to support you and your child to understand the expectations of our school and give you resources to help learning and development at home.
